Surrey U14 Development Squad vs Kent U14
The Surrey Under 14 Development Squad had their first match on Sunday against Kent at Aylesford. This is a major step for these boys in their development, although not a full County side, they were against a full strength Kent side. To allow the maximum number to play Kent had suggested 3 x 20 minutes sessions. As in previous years the boys struggled initially with the match intensity, conceding early tries, before improving but losing the 1st session 26 - 0.
However all credit to the boys, they regrouped, and in the second session scored a good try from forward pressure, but lost 15 - 5. Another improvement in the final session saw them only lose 10 - 5. A tough day for the boys but a valuable lesson in their rugby development.
