The London & South East Under 16 selectors have named their team for the match against Midlands U16 in the first Divisional festival of the season, this Sunday (January 10, 1pm) at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry.
Fly half Will Hooley, who helped The Leys School from Cambridge to win the Daily Mail RBS U15 Vase final at Twickenham Stadium last season, is one of four Eastern Counties players in the starting XV including captain and flanker Gabriel Carroll from St Joseph's, Ipswich.
Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Kent and Surrey are also represented in the squad, many of whom will hopeful of emulating the seven London & South East players who earned England U16 caps last season, or the quartet who represented England U16 A.
There will be a match against the North U16 in the second Divisional festival at the same Broadstreet venue on Sunday January 24 (11am kick-off), as the build-up continues for England Under 16's campaign at the Four Nations Tournament in Italy, and England U16 A's participation in the International Festival at Wellington College, both in April.
Some 246 London & South East players were watched over the course of 13 graded inter county matches and 93 attended a preliminary trial.
